Our local cinema has started offering their movies at only $5 per person every Tuesday. My wife and I hadn't been to a movie in a while and decided that the price was right at only $5. After we added popcorn and a small drink, we were at an all in price of about $25. So, it wasn't free or anything, but it is always fun seeing these shows on the big screen.
Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.
We decided to watch the YA Fantasy show, Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. The movie hit all the genre expectations (tropes) with magical items, strange races, raising the dead (funniest part of the show), and a quest.
The show highlighted a couple of thieves that are caught stealing and sent to jail. They find a way to escape their captivity and then search for the co-conspirator that allowed them to be caught. He had something one of the thieves wanted badly. A magical object that could potentially bring his wife back to life.
It's high action, decent CGI, with dragons and shapeshifting characters, and evil red robed witches. All the things you wish for in a D&D show. I must warn you that the level of violence is high.
$5 is a Bargain Right?
It's funny that we spent $5 per person, which after the popcorn almost tripled the price. The reason that's funny is because we are fairly frugal with our money. We are known to not watch a show on TV that we might have to pay the high cost of $3 to watch. We could have watched 8 shows for the price of the one movie at the cinema. And we have popcorn at home.
Anyway, it was during the middle of the day, we got out for a date, and the show was entertaining.
